Bangladesh Railway: Map, Schedule & Ticket Prices

When I was a kid, I really enjoyed train rides. No matter where we were going, I always insisted for a journey by train. But over the years Bangladesh Railway has remained almost static while other modes of transportation like intercity coaches and flights have improved. Lack of new tracks, friendly staff and better trains has resulted in a decline in the popularity of this important transport.

Though people prefer buses more, there are some routes and destinations which are best for trains. Trains are now more punctual than before and also a few new trains have been introduced to the fleet. The biggest advancement in railway service is I think the ability to book tickets online and via phone sms.
