How to reach Bandarban from Dhaka

If you want to go directly to Bandarban from Dhaka, bus is your only option. There are quite a few good bus services available in this route everyday so it should not be a problem. Buses leave from Fakirapul, Sayedabad and Kamlapur Bus Terminal towards Bandarban daily. It will take 8-10 hours to reach Bandarban. It will cost 400-600 tk per seat in a non AC bus service.

Some may want to visit Bandarban just to visit Nilgiri (though there are TONS of really good places to see in Bandarban). 47 km away from Bandarban district headquarters, in south-east corner of Lama upazila, 2200 feet above the sea level, Nilgiri is a breathtaking place to be. You may take local Chander Gari or Jeep from Lama Bazaar or Bandarban town to go there, costs about 1500-2000tk per car. You can also get on a Thanchi bound bus and go towards Nilgiri. The best time to go to Nilgiri is the rainy season or during July-October.

Traveler Tip: Enjoy local or tribal delicious foods while you are there, you can’t find them in the capital.
